Jeanie Marie Buss is an American businesswoman. She is currently the president of president of the Los Angeles Lakers, the NBA's majority owners. Buss is the daughter of a California native who grew in an affluent family. Jerry Buss' father was an entrepreneur in real estate who later owned the Lakers and other sports companies. The emotional strain she felt was exacerbated when her parents separated in the year 1972. As a 19-year-old, she took over management of the Los Angeles Strings professional Tennis team as General Manager. She then founded the Los Angeles Blades team of professional roller hockey. The position she held was the president for Great Western Forum prior to becoming vice-president for the Lakers. Buss' father died in 2013, as did the Lakers were acquired by her as well as five of her siblings through an inheritance trust. Every sibling was entitled to the same number of votes. Buss was elected president of the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss co-owns Women of Wrestling an pro-wrestling promotional company based in Los Angeles.
